ANTHOTYPOLOGY

Anthotype is an image created using photo sensitive emulsion from natural pigment. Here, beet juice is present in the images and in the dyed Ash frames that house them. 

Typology is both the study of classifications and types and the study of symbols, exemplified in the organic and inorganic silhouettes left in the emulsion after its exposure and in the gestural hands captured in ink. 

Anthology is a collection of stories. Each piece in this body of work serves to catalogue a narrative of its own, as fragments of a larger whole. 

Anthotypology was a solo show in Albuquerque New Mexico that opened Friday May 6th, 2022.
