ABOUT

My name is Francisco Modesto Thornton Gonzalez — I am an Illustrator and Printmaker originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, but currently based in Chicago, Illinois.

I attended the University of New Mexico for Studio Art, with a focus in Printmaking, and currently am enrolled at the University of Illinois, Chicago, in the Art Education program, set to graduate in May 2023.

My primary mediums are Pen and Ink illustration and Relief Printmaking. However I have a broad base of knowledge in other forms of printmaking (Ingtalio, Lithographic and Screen printing), as well as experience in sculpture and mural art.

As an artist, my work often revolves around the sense of self, identity; and belonging. Arms and hands are a dominant theme.
